Pimples are caused when molecules release free electrons (or free radicals) into other parts of the body. These electrons then bind to other molecules, namely, skin molecules. A way to prevent this is to eat food which is high in antioxidants (vitamins C, A, E, as well as a range of other chemicals that are found natural in fruits and vegetables). Free radicals then bind to antioxidants and prevent them from binding to skin cells.
Now, if you already have pimples, washing your face with a non-soap cleanser will cleanse the pores (and therefore some free radicals). Then applying topical antioxidants which most face cream contains will replace the harmful particles with healthy ones
